How to activate a lesson in PragmaTeach

This guide describes the different ways to activate a lesson so students can access it.

Before activating, review the generated or manually created exercises to ensure they match your learning objectives.

Ways to activate a lesson​

You can activate a lesson in three ways:

  1. From the main module screen.
  2. From the main lesson screen.
  3. From the side navigation panel.

Method 1: From the module screen​

  1. Open the course and go to the module that contains the lesson.
  2. Find the activation control (e.g. toggle) on the lesson row.
  3. Set it to Active. The lesson is then available to students.
tip

This is the fastest when you want to activate several lessons without opening each one.

Method 2: From the lesson screen​

  1. Open the course and go to the lesson in the module/lesson list.
  2. Click the lesson to open it.
  3. Open Actions and click Activate.
  4. The lesson status becomes Active and students can see it.

Only active lessons are visible to students and allow access to exercises.

Method 3: From the side navigation panel​

  1. On the course screen, use the left navigation panel (list of modules and lessons).
  2. Find the lesson you want to activate.
  3. Click the three dots (More options) for that lesson.
  4. Choose Activate in the menu. The lesson is activated immediately.
tip

The side panel is useful when you want to activate several lessons quickly without opening each lesson.

Scheduling lesson activation​

  1. From Actions on the lesson screen, or from More options (three dots) in the side panel, select Schedule activation.
  2. Set the date and time when the lesson should become active.
  3. Confirm. You can see the schedule on the lesson screen; at the chosen time the lesson will turn Active automatically.
tip

You can cancel the schedule (e.g. with the X) and set a new one if needed.

Important points​

  • Active course: The course must also be active for students to access its lessons.
  • Activation indicator: When a lesson is active, the side panel may show a green dot next to it.
  • Order: You can activate lessons in any order; they do not have to be activated in sequence.
  • Visibility: Once active, the lesson is available to all students in the course immediately.
  • Deactivating: You can deactivate a lesson at any time using the same entry points (toggle, Actions, or side panel menu).

When a lesson is active​

Students can:

  • See the lesson content.
  • Access its exercises.
  • Start working on the lesson.

You can then continue activating more lessons or creating exercises for your course.
