How to personalize
Personalization in PragmaTeach lets you adapt the experience to each educator and their students. Below are the main areas.
Teacher profile
The teacher profile affects:
- Automatic correction: Criteria and parameters used to evaluate student answers.
- AI generation: How content is generated according to your preferences and teaching style.
- Feedback: Type and level of feedback given to students.
To set it up, open your profile (top right). Define your pedagogical preferences, teaching style, and assessment criteria. You can use an AI assistant that guides you through defining your teaching style.
Teams and subgroups
Teams and Subgroups let you create different groupings and split students into smaller groups. Configure them in the Users tab of the course.
Teams
- Assigned at random.
- Used for ranking/competition.
- Click the teams icon to open a right-hand panel where you set how many teams to create and manage them.
Subgroups
- Custom labels you create to organize students (e.g. by level, interests, needs, or learning style).
- Differentiated assignment: You can assign different activities or content to each subgroup (e.g. more time, shorter instructions, extra practice, simplified reading).
- Use the subgroups icon to open the panel and create or edit subgroups and assign students.
Course settings
Each course reflects the teacher’s choices from the moment it is created: materials, structure, number of lessons, and exercise types.
After creating the course, the Settings tab lets you adjust options to match your preferences.
Language settings
Set the translation percentage to the second language. This controls how many exercises students see in that language.
Attempts
Set how many attempts students have to complete a lesson: from one to unlimited.
Lesson settings
Lessons can be personalized in several ways:
Lesson time
- Time limit: Maximum time to complete the lesson.
- Suggested time: Indicative only, not enforced.
- No limit: Students work at their own pace.
Number of attempts
- Limited attempts: Maximum number of attempts per exercise or lesson.
- Unlimited attempts: Students can repeat as many times as needed.
- You can also configure whether feedback is shown between attempts.
Exercise pool (max exercises)
- Create more exercises than will be shown in each attempt.
- The system randomly selects from this pool for each attempt.
- Each student can see a different set of exercises, reducing copying and increasing varied practice.
- You configure the size of the pool and how many exercises are shown per attempt.
This is especially useful for assessments and practice, so each student has a similar but unique experience.
