How to create exercises in PragmaTeach

This guide explains how to create exercises for your lesson content.

Step 1: Open exercise creation

  1. Go to Courses.
  2. Open the course and select the module and lesson in the left panel.
  3. Inside the lesson you will find the option to create exercises.
tip

You need to have created the course structure (modules and lessons) before you can add exercises.

Step 2: Choose the exercise type

Inside the lesson, choose the type of exercise. PragmaTeach has two main categories:

  • Theoretical exercises: For conceptual understanding and knowledge (e.g. multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blanks).
  • Practical exercises: For applying knowledge in hands-on activities.

Select the category and then the specific exercise type that best fits your learning goals.

Step 3: Give specific instructions to the AI

After choosing the type, set how many exercises you want. You will see a text field where you can give specific instructions to the AI.

This step is important for getting exercises that match your teaching goals.

Why be explicit?

The more specific your instructions, the better and more tailored the result. Clear instructions help the platform understand exactly what you need.

What you can specify

  • Difficulty: Basic, intermediate, advanced.
  • Topic or subtopic: The exact content the exercise should cover.
  • Context: Real situations, practical cases, concrete examples.
  • Skills to assess: Understanding, application, analysis, synthesis.
tip

The more detail you provide in this field, the better the generated exercises. Do not hesitate to be very specific.

When generation starts, you will see “Exercise generation started”. You can follow progress under Background tasks.

Background tasks

important

While the AI is working, you can go to other screens and keep planning. To return to what is being generated, click the background tasks icon (with a yellow dot) and select the task you want to check.

When the icon shows a green dot, the AI has finished and the exercise is ready.

Go back to the lesson and you will see the new exercises. Then you can activate the lesson so students can access them.

note

Only active lessons are available to students.
